I've been a chameleon most of my life. A guy with no flag, good at fitting whatever room I was in. I'm done with that.
So here's me, plainly. I'm Kevin. I've spent about twenty-five years in construction — the last twenty in one line of work — and today I'm a general manager in roofing and remodeling. Roofs, windows, doors, siding, gutters.
That trade is where I learned most of what I actually know. How to build something. How to hire wrong and pay for it. How a man can email you a price and quietly do whatever he wants to you with it. I've been the guy who got taken, and — if I'm honest — I've been the guy who knew how to take. I used to think I knew everything. I didn't.
The part I don't get to skip
I made a million dollars. I lost most of it. Forty employees down to four. I've told people I made good decisions back then. I take that back — I didn't make good decisions. I was just blessed, and I confused the two.
People want the version where I saw it coming. I didn't. I'm not the prophet in this story. I'm the one who got knocked down, said so out loud, and is climbing back anyway. If you need a man who's arrived, I'm the wrong guy. If you want one who's honest about the mat he's on, stick around.
You can fake money. You can fake happiness. You can fake almost anything. You can't fake fitness. — one of the reasons I'm doing this in front of you instead of talking about it
Where the faith comes in
I got baptized in 2013. I was 240 pounds and a long way from who I wanted to be. Faith isn't a topic I cover — it's the frame everything else sits in. I'm not going to hand you Christianese, that language that sounds spiritual and isn't. I'd rather just talk like a man and tell you the truth: God is with me on the floor, and that's exactly where I'm starting from.
What I've built and written
I've been making things for a long time — not just roofs. Since 2020 I've been writing: books, teaching, devotionals. Two of them I'm putting out into the world now:
- Counterfeit Reality — the map I wrote before I knew I'd have to walk it. This is the one you get free for your email.
- Ancient Wisdom — the next one, offered down the road.
Why "F That"
The world sells you a trade-off: money, family, fitness — pick two. I watched my dad work hard, put work first, and let it grind down his family and his health. F That is the argument against that life. Faith, finance, fitness, family — and the lie that you only get two.
It reads two ways and I know it. That's the wink, not the point. I don't need to swear to make my case. Peacemaker, not peacekeeper.
Made it. Lost it. Building it back — out loud this time. Watch me try.
