The Climb

730 days. Four fronts.
Filmed while it happens.

Day 1 begins September 16, 2026

This isn't a comeback story I'm going to tell you after it's over. It's a document. I write it while I'm still in it, before I know how it ends.

On September 16, 2026 — my 48th birthday — I start a two-year climb toward 50. Seven hundred and thirty days. I'm going to film it and put it out as it happens. The hard days and the wins. Not the highlight reel after the fact, when I already know it worked out. The actual thing, in real time.

The promise, said plainly

I'm not promising you a transformation on a schedule. I'm promising the attempt. For 730 days, in public, you get to watch me try — and success and failure both count as content. If I don't hit the goals by 50, the goalposts move and the climb keeps going. Watching the try is the whole thing.

I want to be clear about the voice of this, because it matters to me. This isn't "poor me, abandoned in a storm." It's a man on the mat, starting to crawl, who believes God is with him right there on the floor. That's the starting line. Not the sermon.

The four fronts

The world sells you a trade-off — money, family, fitness, pick two. I don't believe that. So I'm climbing all four at once, out loud, and letting you see whether a regular man can actually hold them together.

And I list them in an order on purpose. People figure the order's random. It isn't. The order is the argument.

Faith goes first because Jesus is the foundation — build on anything else and you built on sand. Finances come second, and I know that reads cold sitting right under faith. It's not cold. To do more of what God puts in front of you, you need resources; money is the fuel, not the god. Fitness is third because your destiny falls apart the day your body stops working, and I'm writing that one from the floor. And family is last on the list, not least — last because it's the reason for all of it. I climb the other three to protect and take care of the people I was given. That's the order. That's the whole argument.

Front 1

Faith

First because it's the foundation — the ground the other three stand on. Not a topic I tack on. Plain words for holy things, no Christianese. Jesus is King, and I'll say it like a man, not a poster.

Front 2

Finances

Second because expansion takes resources — money is the fuel, not the point. I made it and lost it once already. Rebuilding it this time in the open — the real numbers, the real setbacks. It wasn't my money anyway. It was our money, and I'm treating it like it.

Front 3

Fitness

Third because your destiny quits the day your body does — and mine just did. I got hurt, and I'm starting over from there. I went from 240 pounds to lean once already; I know it can be done and I know it can't be faked. This front is the proof-of-work for all the rest.

Front 4

Family

Last on purpose — it's who the whole climb is for. The longest, quietest work I've got. My family stays private — my wife didn't sign up to be content, and my kids didn't either. So this front is about the man I'm trying to become for them, not about them.

"Day X of 730"

There's a counter, and it's honest. Right now it's ticking down to Day 1. The moment the climb starts on September 16, it flips and starts counting up — Day 1, Day 2, all the way to Day 730. Every recap, every milestone, every hard day gets stamped with the number. It keeps me accountable, and it keeps you able to check whether I actually showed up.

Here's the part most people would hide: I expect a crisis somewhere around month six. Most climbs have one. When it comes, I'm going to post it, not bury it. That's the deal I'm making with you.

What you can expect, week to week

If you're green you're growing. If you're ripe you're rotten. — why I'd rather show you the unfinished climb than a finished statue

Two years. Win or lose, I post it. Watch me try.
